Welcome to Balkan Net

Introduction

The international foundation Balkan Net has been established in 2006 as an integrated trans-national competency network, initiated by InWEnt trainees of the countries of south-eastern Europe. It has its main office in Skopje, Macedonia. The network strengthening is permanently supported by the GIZ, the deutsche Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit  (former InWEnt), the German international cooperation agency www.giz.de through capacity building measures and project partnerships.

By operating intensively in both the public and the private sectors in the last six years of our existence, we have proven that the cooperation on the Balkans can be without borders. The achievement of our goals and missions continue with utmost enthusiasm.

Our mission

Our mission is to act as platform for know-how transfer or center of excellence, enhancing the economic and technical cooperation and fostering transnational collaboration. We promote the establishment of strong business and political ties between the countries of southeast Europe and Germany and other EU countries. Promotion of Public Private Partnerships is one of our key objectives.

Network Structure

The network activities are coordinated by experts and country coordinators in Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey and Germany.

Major Supporters & Business Partners

Deutsche Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, former InWEnt Capacity Building International from Germany is our major partner and supporter. We cooperate closely with the PPP Task Force, North Rhine Westphalia, German consulting companies ACT Schröder and Michel Institute and numerous organizations form the public and the private sectors from the respective countries.
